Besties in the workplace

Following up on yesterday's post about Gallup CEO Jim Clifton's interview:

He also mentions something that is rarely talked about, which is the importance of friendships at work.

And there is a difference between a good friend and a best friend. He says "If you have a best friend at work, you have different outcomes".

This is well known in the army where a soldier will sacrifice his life, not for his country but for his buddy.

And this is also understood in industries that deal with safety, as workers will watch out for and protect their best friend.

This topic of friendship in the workplace is paramount at this very moment when depression, anger and frustration are on the rise, and the topic of mental health at work cannot be swept under the rug any longer.
